School Arrangements

At Cedars Primary School we recognise that good behaviour and discipline are key foundations of good education.

Playtime

Teaching staff supervise morning breaks. We have Lunchtime Assistants on the playground and in the Hall to supervise lunchtime. A member of the Senior Leadership Team also supports the supervision at lunchtime. A range of equipment is provided on the playground to support play.

Snacks

Please feel free to provide your child with a healthy snack for playtime, named if possible. All EYFS and Key Stage 1 children are provided with a piece of fruit daily.

Lunch Arrangements

Children either have the choice of a hot school meal (currently £2.50 per day) or a packed lunch. This would need to be sent in a suitable lunchbox and a cup or straw provided for their drink. In the interest of providing a healthy diet, please do not provide your child with sweets or fizzy drinks for consumption at any time of the day.

The children have lunch in the main school hall. The government funds hot school meals for Reception and Key Stage 1.

Drop Off & Collection

Parking

At both ends of the school day, the area around the school gets very congested and parking is not always easy. We frequently request that cars do not park on the kerbs and hold up traffic on the one-way roads.

Collection

Reception and Key Stage 1 children will not be allowed out of class until a parent or carer arrives to collect them.

Key Stage 2 children are allowed onto the playground but should return to their class teacher if their parent or carer is not there. Parents can sign a letter of permission if they would like their child to leave school unaccompanied.

Please inform the school if you are delayed or if someone else will be collecting your child.

Newsletter

Emergency Closure

In the event of the school having to close suddenly as a result of unforeseen circumstances such as the failure of the school’s heating or electrical system, flooding, or adverse weather conditions, the Headteacher will notify the Local Authority and parents will be informed by text or telephone.

Under no circumstances will children be left unattended at school.
