Wriggle and Crawl
Welcome back to school for the final half term of this academic year!
In Maths Miss Pollendine and Mrs Spring’s groups will be learning about finding halves and quarters of shapes and amounts. In Miss Forrest and Mrs Lockley’s groups we will be consolidating our learning from the year and continuing to work on interpreting data and telling the time.
Our English lessons will cover story and information text writing, consolidating lots of SPAG skills learned across the year. We will be working on further developing writing stamina and pace as well as accuracy of spellings in the context of written work.
In Geography we will be learning about the countries of the UK and their capital cities. We will be looking at different landmarks and learning what is different between towns, cities and villages.
In Art we are working on using pattern. We will get the opportunity to use printing techniques and designing patterns of our own!
In Year 2 Science we will be covering food chains, how plants and animals get their energy and the properties of materials. In Year 1 we will be learning about the parts of a flowering plant and the parts of trees.
We will also be doing RE, PE, PSHE, Computing and Music!
