Years 1 and 2 Curriculum Overview
This half term we will be starting our new topic Scented Garden.
In Maths we will be continuing to develop fluency in number bonds and times tables. Our new learning will cover shapes, fractions and measurement as well as securing our understanding and application of place value.
In English we will be doing writing based on a story from another culture as well as a twist on a traditional tale. We will continue to work on cursive handwriting and weekly spellings.
Our Science work will be about micro habitats and animals that live in them as well as classifying and sorting trees and plants. We will get the opportunity to explore outside too!
This half term we will be returning to DT and History. In DT we will be designing gardens and learning about pulleys and levers and in History we will be learning about transport over time.
We will continue to be active and have 2 PE sessions a week as well as having the opportunity to engage in a range of Music, RE, PSHE and computing.
