Reception Pancake Day

Reception had the best time celebrating Pancake Day. We learnt all about Shrove Tuesday and had a go at making our own pancakes. We measured out the ingredients, mixed it together and watched as the pancakes cooked in the pan. We learnt about how to be safe around hot pans and developed our cooking skills. We remembered what we had read in the story ‘Mama Panya’s Pancakes’ and watched for bubbles in the pancakes before we flipped them over. After they were cooked we selected our toppings; lemon and sugar, blueberries, strawberries or golden syrup. They tasted delicious – we even shared them with the adults across the school! After we had finished we washed up and dried our plates too.
