On Friday 2nd February 2024, Year 5 and 6 visited Bletchley Park as part our History learning about World War II. Each class took part in a workshop all about the D-Day landings and the intelligence gathering and strategizing that was necessary for this to be a success. The children got the opportunity to be codebreakers and deciphered real World War II encrypted messaged all about the landings. They also got to see the enigma machine in operation. Throughout the day, the children explored Bletchley Park as a part of a guided tour to learn all about its history and the important role it played during the war. They also had the chance to explore the different huts as well as the Mansion.
The day was a great success and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
