Our topic for our final half term in Year 1/2 is going to be… Towers, Tunnels and Turrets!
This is going to be an imaginative learning project for the children and a great opportunity for them to learn about castles past and present and what they are used for.
Our English focus is going to be based around recounts, stories, letters and posters.
Science: Living things and their habitats, use of everyday materials and working scientifically.
Art: Sculpture using natural materials.
DT: Making models of towers, bridges and tunnels.
Geography: Amazing structures around the world.
History: Castles and castle life, significant individuals (Brunel)
In our team we have Miss Mazzone teaching in Hedgehogs, Miss Turner in Owls and Miss Lewis in Badgers. Miss Mazzone is our KS1 leader. We are lucky to have the lovely Miss King (trainee teacher), Mrs Hinds, Mrs Regan and Sarah Moores working alongside us.
I love this class because there is always something exciting to do!
